dns server network connection typical scenario access computer dns queries dns address indispensable tool
Description - MultiDNS - The indispensable tool for resolving DNS addresses on more then one network
From the native Windows dialog under network connections you can already click on an adapter and configure multiple DNS servers. Windows will however only query the next DNS server in the list, if the first DNS server is not responding. This means that if the first DNS server is responding but Unable to resolve a name, Windows will NOT proceed to the next server in the list. MultiDNS is a local DNS server that redirects DNS queries to one or more DNS servers. MultiDNS STOPS when a successful response is returned or when all servers in the list have been queried. MultiDNS can be installed on a laptop or on a server. Typical scenarios where MultiDNS is used: On end user laptops in conjunction with remote VPN, thus enabling remote users to access computers/servers on both networks by name On servers or end user laptops that need to access multiple NAT segments that are connected via VPN or other private links. For example multiple disjoint AD structures. Or to resolve a problem recently described like this by an mnm user
