Description - Judoom
It was built for creative writers who want a simple writing environment that doesn`t get in their way while working on that crucial first draft. If you`re a business or academic user, it`s not for you. It`s suitable for first-draft work only, not for final manuscript preparation.
Judoom works with Microsoft Word documents, Open Office documents, RTF documents, as well as plain text files. A first-draft written in Judoom can be opened and polished in many different word processors.
The layout is simple. At the Centre is A Word Processor with all the usual, basic options. To the left is a file tree—or a series of file trees. There are four trees that you can jump between: a complete file tree just like you`ll find in Windows Explorer, a Documents tree that shows your entire Documents folder, and two user-defined project trees.
The Project trees are one of the key features of Judoom. They allow you to easily manage a work in progress. In the example screenshots, you can see how easy it is to structure a project. Two projects are active, Wizard of Oz and Wicked, each containing multiple Folders and files, all easily reachable from the Main Screen.
Every document you see is saved in the format of your choice (Word, Open Office, RTF, etc.). No proprietary format is used. You can set your two projects to any accessible location, including a DropBox folder or external drive so that they can be shared across PCs.
There are no styles, no headers and footers, no page numbers, no spell checker (yet—maybe later). And that`s it. Judoom is free. It`s Windows only. What you see is very much what you get.
If you like simplicity, if you`re looking for a tabbed word processor, if you want to see the files you are working in right next to your word processor, then Judoom is the software for you.
